Koenigsegg
Koenigsegg Automotive AB is a Swedish manufacturer of high performance sports car. The company’s direction & hard work of many years for the development and prototyping the model leads to the existence of its first street legal production car in 2010.
Koenigsegg is also involved in “Green Technology” development programs. The model was firstly stretched into 1:5 scale models. This was later scaled up in order to create the base plug for their Koenigsegg prototype.
Von Koenigsegg got the idea to build his own car after watching the Norwegian stop-motion animated movie Pinchcliffe Grand Prix in his youth. Then he started his career from the early 20’s running a trading company “ALPRAAZ” in Stockholm, Sweden.
Koenigsegg explored the model “Triveta” which is a special edition in which only the three cars will be manufactured by the company. Its body is made entirely out of Koenigsegg’s proprietary material consisting of diamond coated carbon fibres. It is based on the model CCXR and therefore produces 1018 hp equivalent to 759 KW power comparative to 490 hp produced by Ferrari F430.
In December 2010, the Koenigsegg Agera won the prestigious BBC Top Gear Hyper car of the Year. In September 2012 the Koenigsegg Agera R broke the Guinness World Record – 0-300-0 km/h with a time of just 21.19 seconds.
The existed weight of the Koenigsegg is 440 Lbs which is about 12% of 1190 Lbs of Ferrari F430. Koenigsegg’s model runs on gas, bio fuel or ethanol having the different efficiencies with each engine. The thing which everyone is curious to know is cost of this model which is around 1.8 Million Dollars (9.9 Crore). The present highest speed of this super car is about 250 miles per hour but in future advancements its speed is up to 280 miles per hour by 2016.
