Adventure

“Nothing adventured, nothing attained” – Peter McWilliams
“An adventure is an exciting or unusual experience; it may also be a bold, usually risky undertaking, with an uncertain outcome. Adventures may be activities with some potential for physical danger, such as skydiving, mountain climbing and/or participating in extreme sports. The term also broadly refers to any enterprise that is potentially fraught with physical, financial or psychological risk, such as a business venture, a love affair, or other major life undertakings.”

Okay, may be that is a definition… But what would we say about that?? The young and energetic blood that runs all inside us is ravenous for anything rash and daring.. For us adventure is to risk everything, to put everything at stake, to put our lives at the line and get back from there soundly and then boast about all that. And then go back to do something more adventurous..
Actually, the perception is getting wrong now-a-days. Dangerous acts only get categorized in the category of ADVENTURE… Is that just..Na na na… I don’t think so. Go smooth fellas. There is lot more than that(actually less than that, that can be adventurous).
And not to forget, we say YOLO all proudly. Don’t tell me you don’t know what’s that.. ‘You only live once’, it draws a line between young and old. It’s been a trend this year, no? Every now and then we would do something totally unacceptable, then laugh foolishly and raise a toast and exclaim, “YOLO’. Its appeal to the youthful is self-evident. YOLO as a shorthand mantra defines youth. What is teenage hood if not the adventurous, often foolhardy, desire to test the limits of acceptable behavior—because hey, why not? YOLO!
How childish is that! No? We are wholly smitten and sick of it.. Gosh, isn’t that the limit? The desi version being..”Zindagi Naa Milegi Dobara.” Hey you know what they did in the movie titled alike. The three friends go to certain locations where each friend chooses a sport for the group to attempt. Their kind a adventure which they survived.. But grow up buddies, life isn’t a movie. You won’t come out of a danger when the director would say, “Okay cut”.

Go ahead and try something that would satisfy your hunger for adventure. All of us would want to add such milestone in our life which would make us proud in future. But if that life slips out of your hand just like that, then what? This is something we’ll never want. I won’t… Will you? So here is again that bit of advice that asks you to be conscious. Just be watchful.
